ANNUAL REPORT Since 2014 onwards one person from among the finalists in the Hestia Artisitc Journey competition is presented with the Special Award of the President of the ERGO Hestia Group, Piotr M. Śliwicki. The task of the awarded artist is to deliver the concept and execution of a design for the annual report of ERGO Hestia on commercial terms. The presentation of financial results serves as a mere excuse to say something more about the company, seen through the eyes of young artists, in a visually engaging manner. Annual Report “Success” 2019 The essence of success can be easily reduced to a brief cliché. It can also be easily overloaded with an unnecessary component. Success is not created in the monotony of one time and one space, since it takes place in all the areas familiar to the senses. Joanna Kunert, the winner of the Special Award in the 17th edition of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition, listened carefully to the voice of people who create ERGO Hestia and its values. She also took a look around the everyday space of the office staff. Using Sopot-based ingredients, she created a palette of textures, shapes, fragrances and flavours that tells about what is human, local and accessible. Her story is rooted in a deep reflection, which allows us to enjoy and share the ERGO Hestia’s success, as the senses that mark their presence so strongly in the ERGO Hestia Annual Report facilitate, in fact, savouring and not an easy consumption. Annual Report “Cognition” 2018 Accustomed to everyday analysis, we tend to move within linear boundaries outlined by our senses. In search of the most in-depth information, we stick tightly to the learned procedures. In this constant truth-seeking, how often we are at the brink of the hazard of routine and how efficiently we avoid experiments. And yet development requires a trial by fire, it needs a test. It is an experiment, the untamed side of our nature that allows us to walk away from the logical query for a while and climb to the next levels of cognition. In 2017, Agnieszka Mastalerz, the winner of the Special Award in the 16. edition of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition decided to help the ERGO Hestia employees to look into the mirror of their desires and dreams to realise that there is no one-dimensional image of the so-called corporate person. The course of this performative action revealed the whole spectrum of shared values integral for the company. Thanks to the examined dreams it is easier to say who we are and who we aspire to be. Annual Report “Network” 2017 A network. It can be a trap. An accidental sum of small meshes which mechanically absorb victims unaware of the threat. It can also create a dynamic system of multidimensional links in a thoughtful, organised but open way. A community of creative individuals, pursuing the chosen objectives. Which path is the ERGO Hestia following? Now, you may try to subjectively answer this question. The design of the report summarising the company’s anniversary year, was again handed to the finalist of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition - Hanna Dyrcz. Her view is fresh and supported by a solid body of research. The analysis is an attempt to capture complex business processes passed through the filter of connections, dependencies and human interaction. Annual Report “Dialogue” 2016 On the one hand, consistency and stability, on the other hand, ongoing development, change, innovation. Continuity is key in the company’s life, but looking for new ways is vital as well. How to describe the tension that results from the interaction of these aspects? One of the options is to reach for the language of art. The format of the ERGO Hestia annual report was entrusted to Katarzyna Kimak, the winner of the Special Award in the 14th edition of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition. The artist conducted a specific reality audit of the insurance company. She took her own, independent perspective. No prejudice, no recommendations, no restrictions. Annual Report “Spaces” 2015 Shaping, creating, sculpting. Cutting out, designing, gluing. Shortcuts. Roads to achievement. Broad ways and narrow paths. Shapes that take their forms only when redundant elements are removed. That is what lies beneath the creative process of Matej Frank, presented with the Special Award in the 13th edition of Hestia Artistic Journey. The young artist took the challenge of depicting the year 2014 in one of the major insurance companies in Poland: its development, internal features and character. In Matej Frank’s work, ERGO Hestia takes on a shape that is in a constant, proportional, annual growth. It marks its presence not only in space, but also in time.
